2024 Botswana The 2024 All Africa Anthroposophical Training (AAAT) was held in Botswana from August 25th - September 1st. It was a week of deep immersion across different disciplines that have all been enriched and enlightened through Anthroposophy. The AAAT brings general teachings from Anthroposophy to participants from across Africa who have an interest in human development. It means meeting inspiring people, in-depth learning and exchanging workable ideas. Participants came together to learn from the wisdom of nature, to study and experience soul development practices and to engage in different practical workshops that bring skills out of Anthroposophy including Biodynamic farming, special needs education, arts, architecture, medicine, eurythmy, child development, health and therapy, Waldorf education, youth care, the art of community building, and much more. Starting and closing the day with a circle and movement the participants could then dive into well-presented lectures, the nature and text studies and the various afternoon workshops. The evenings brought the daily reviews, deepening of anthroposophy and cultural programmes from the Botswana hosts. All of this was infused by the smell of the orange orchard, the beautiful singing voices and the African joy of celebrating together. Camphill Community Trust in Otse, Botswana provided the perfect setting for it. This amazing impulse would not be possible without the initiative, holding and support of individuals and donations Out of this inspiration at the AAAT 2024 came the announcement of the ‘first-ever’ African Youth Conference: “Gifts of Africa – Navigating Anthroposophy with the African Culture” 23-28th September 2025 in Vikundu, Tanzania. Central to the AAAT is meeting people face to face and their work and celebration of life across Africa. These meaningful encounters give rise to new inspiration while practicing social coherence. The verse below by Rudolf Steiner carried the participants throughout a meaningful AAAT 2024.

2025 Conference Namibia The 2025 AAAT took place just outside Windhoek in Namibia. The 7 day immersive training was attended by 120 people from 14 African countries plus some from Europe and America. The organizers made an effort to offer a comprehensive training program with various workshops, lectures, and activities. Program: The program of the training seminar was comprehensive and diverse, with various workshops, lectures, and activities. The participants had the opportunity to exchange their knowledge and experiences and network with other Anthroposophists from Africa. The organizers made an effort to offer a training program that met the needs and interests of the participants. The personality and professionality of Michaela Glöckler was an amazing asset for the participants to understand the underlying concepts of Anthroposophy. All Workshop leaders and small group leaders were very engaged and provided workshops that were of high quality. The team of 3 people that was leading the participants through the program was very busy and had several organizational surprises to overcome. They did a great job. The outing to the Waldorf School Windhoek and to the farming community Krumhuk was a great success which the participants enjoyed. The cultural evening brought a brief insight into the different cultures of the different countries in a very good atmosphere. Conclusion: This year AAAT was a great success, despite some challenges and problems. The organizers made an effort to support the participants and meet their needs, and the participants had the opportunity to exchange their knowledge and experiences and network with other Anthroposophists from Africa. The organizing team could improve to better plan and coordinate the financing, communication and logistics, to hold a even more successful training. The atmosphere of the AAAT was exceptional good from the first to the last day.
