Initiatives Connected to the AAAT
The Wider Movement is a free association of individuals, initiatives and organisations that derive inspiration and insights from the work of Rudolf Steiner and others since him, and to some extent apply this in their own work. The Wider Movement comes out of a wish to meet and communicate with each other, to share experience and expertise and to inform and engage with the public.

Promoting pedagogical first aid for stressed and traumatized children and adolescents. Effects of stress, anxiety and trauma can profoundly disturb the development of children and adolescents. In today’s environment, basic knowledge about trauma is essential. In 2017 a voluntary group of interested people was formed in South Africa. The aim is to bring awareness of trauma to organizations that work with children, teachers, care givers, social workers and parents and how educational methods can help to stabilize and possibly prevent disorders.
Emergency Pedagogy was specifically developed for the early phases after a traumatic event. The methods also support the self-healing in later stages.
There are three focal areas
-
Work with children and adolescents for psycho-social stabilization
-
Training: theoretical knowledge and practical methods
-
Parent workshops, talks and emergency advice
